Sunlight-Activated Long Persistent Luminescent Coating for Smart Highways

With the whole society’s demand for intelligence, smart highway has become inevitable trend of road development. Luminescent marking made long persistent luminescent coating is a new type functional that designed with afterglow material as raw and many features such safety, beauty energy saving. Here, SrA12O4:Eu2+,Dy3+ green phosphors were prepared using high-temperature solid state method. The obtained at 1350 °C have two traps shallow trap depth 0.66 eV deep 0.8 eV. can be seen in dark more than 8 h after sunlight excitation 2 h. coatings synthesized blending uniformity each component improved by adding 1.25% SiO2 into coatings. addition 3.5% CaCO3 will improve compactness reduce water absorption. After soaking 120 h, intensity decreases to 76% original, showing good resistance. daylight different weather conditions (cloudy, sunny, rainy), reach 5 h; therefore, it applied highway.
